“Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue….. I can sing a Rainbow”
I have been following the very talented Lulu Lytle, from Soane England and I always love what she does. Her use of colour is so clever and her rooms are full of intrigue and always look so stylish and beautiful. Have a look at her kitchen below and it is totally bonkers but works.
Another very stylish lady is Pippa Small, who designs very gorgeous jewellery, inspired by her travels to such places as Burma, Syria and Afghanistan. Her house is a riot of colour and ravishing textiles from around the globe and it just makes you want to smile. A house should be a reflection of all the things that you love and one should never be swayed by current trends as these will soon date.
My own home is a random collection of things that I love and colour plays a major roll. I am currently redecorating some rooms and will be posting the finished result on the blog over the next few weeks.
I love this saying from the late Oscar Wilde.... ‘Mere colour, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways’. Well said!
